Author: Masahiko Igashira He was born in 1975 and obtained Bachelor of Science and Ph.D in philosophy from Tohoku University. After working as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science research fellow and as an assistant professor at Graduate School of Frontier of Biosciences and also at Graduate School of Human Sciences, Osaka University, he is currently an associate professor at Hitotsubashi University (tenured). The present book is an English translation of the Japanese book version of my thesis. The translation was done by Dr. Yu Izumi at Kyoto University.
